This property far exceeded our expectations. The facilities were fantastic. The room, building, furnishings, were awesome. The owners have done a beautiful job keeping this historic building as period as possible. The photos throughout of Dunedin past were a lovely touch. (NZ)

Very comfortable, large room and bathroom. The small kitchenette was handy and had everything I needed to make some simple meals in the room. Location was good for my visit to Otago University. Also close to a little corner shop and several restaurants and fast food places, with a big supermarket a few 100 meters away. (ZA)

Love the restored building and second time stay. Warm room once heater overcame Dunedin winter chills. Really good value Continental Breakfast and recommended. Space, airy and generous rooms and bathroom you could land a plane in, clean as dry… no mustiness for old building. Very lovely, beautiful linen, loved the feel of the place. This place is just SO darn comfy!! I’m in Dunedin quite often for work and love staying here. It’s a gorgeous old place and the staff are always delightful! The kitchenette (fridge, microwave, plates and whatnot) is perfect for simple things. (NZ)

The young lady in reception was very friendly and helpful when we arrived, and the room was lovely with period fixtures and fittings, and plenty of space. The bed was massive and very comfortable. The in-house laundry was very handy to catch up on cleaning our used gear. We stayed here 2 nights, and this was the best accommodation we had in the 2 weeks we were in NZ. (AU)

Good functional character room, bathroom was exceptionally clean. Nice area to walk around with reserve and leith close by. Room right on the busy George street although limited street noise noted in room Easy and simple check in and out. Really nice decoration, the little tap fixtures etc were a nice touch and the furniture suited the style of building. It was very quaint and an enjoyable room to look at and be in. Free Wifi was of a good speed. The bed was comfortable, and it had a good sized tv. (NZ)

Very nicely presented rooms in an historical building. Bed was very comfortable, and the owner could not be more helpful. Note, I travel a lot and get disappointed with some places with glowing reviews because the host was really nice but everything else was ordinary. This place is nice and so is the host. Beautiful heritage property decorated to a high standard in keeping with its history. Lovely friendly owners/staff. Spotlessly clean and well serviced. We had a lovely time at the hotel! The place is beautiful, clean and it was well maintained. Laundry services were available. Electric blankets were provided, and we had a good night's rest. Das Highland House Boutique Hotel liegt direkt an der George Street über die man in circa 25 Minuten das Stadtzentrum zu Fuß erreicht. Das Hotel verfügt über Parkplätze direkt im hinteren Bereich. Das Apartment war sehr sehr großzügig eingerichtet. Ein älterer Charme wie der Name Boutique Hotel schon vermuten lässt. WLAN war völlig in Ordnung. Zur Baldwin Street, der steilsten Straße der Welt, benötigt man mit dem Auto gerade mal 5 Minuten. Ein Supermarkt „New World“ ist mit dem Auto ebenfalls in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Restaurants sind fußläufig auf der George Street vorhanden. Hotel trotz Lage direkt an der George Street sehr ruhig und wirklich sehr nett, unbedingt empfehlenswert. (Guest of Expedia)

Stayed over Queens birthday for three nights as a return customer due to beautiful, immaculate rooms, helpful and friendly service and the perfect location for easy walks to town, university and gardens.
